Too Much Stuff!

When we moved back to Cookeville it took three-fourths of a semi-trailer to move us. That was quite an accumulation over 46 years of marriage. The sad part is a lot of it is still in boxes in our garage. I wonder what is in those boxes? And we have bought more stuff in the last four years. It is said that storage sheds are the fastest growing industry in America. That is quite a commentary on Americans. All we own we can't put in our houses. We really are materialistic almost without conscious effort. The common proverb is that there are no trailer hitches on hearses. But judging by how much we own, maybe there ought to be.

The Lord warned, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."(Luke 12:15) The Lord's message simply means to "Watch out for there is more to life than what you own," In fact, be careful lest your things own you!

What are we to do with what we own? Use it, of course. Use it for things God would approve of and in ways that He would appreciate. Don't store it! Use it. Now!
