Who Holds Your Hands
When I returned to Cookeville in 2011 I had been here only two weeks when I misstepped and fell off the deck on to the asphalt driveway. The result was that I broke both wrists. For a few months I was in terrible circumstances. Have you ever experienced what it is like to not be able to use either hand? I won't discuss the unmentionables you can't do. Had I not had Janice beside me I would have been up the proverbial "estuary without a suitable means of locomotion".
Sometimes our life circumstances make us feel like we are trying to run up a slippery slope covered with ice. But instead of being depressed or complaining about the cards dealt to us we need to remember what the Psalmist said, "The steps of a man are established by the Lord, and He delights in His way. When he falls , he shall not be hurled headlong, because the Lord is the one who holds his hand." (Ps. 37:23-24)
Think about it, the Lord of the universe is the one who holds your hands so you will survive your missteps!
