Job Description

Part-Time Ministry Assistant

The person filling this position will partner with the Collegeside Leadership Team daily by performing various tasks and projects. A primary focus is on coordinating ministry events and ministry support tasks. Effective written and verbal communication is essential. Event Planning, promotion, setup, and volunteer recruitment are critical functions in this responsibility.

Pay Schedule – Hourly, Bi-Weekly

** Office staff may elect to work on weekdays, December 26-31, and be paid for hours worked. (Based on regular hours worked)

Essential Functions
  •  Office Hours – Keep Regular office hours as established with the supervisor. These hours could encompass occasional night or weekend events. Work will not exceed more than 30 hours per week.
  • Relationships – Build and maintain healthy relationships with ministers, coworkers, church members, and the community.
  • Meetings – Attend all regular staff meetings.
  • Office Skills – Basic office skills, including computer operations, knowledge of Microsoft Office, phone system, and security system. Other essential skills include creative writing and event planning skills.
  • Ministry Calendar – Communicate events, as provided by ministry staff, to the Collegeside family through the website, app, or other regular methods. Coordinate events with ministry team/leaders. Manage facility/vehicle calendar (with Matt Collins). Coordinate with the A/V team and facility setup team for events (with Matt Collins.) Long-Term Goal – Develop and implement an all- inclusive ministry calendar.
  • Administrative Assistance – Oversee building door code system. Distribute access codes for events/ministries. Develop and implement a schedule with the Teaching Minister and Church secretary to ensure administrative duties are completed efficiently. This task includes a weekly work schedule and yearly vacations. Special assignments requested by Teaching Minister.
  • Ministry Assistance 
    • Coordinate volunteers for the Collegeside church family. Create a database of volunteers and ministry needs. Keep track of past volunteers, and discuss volunteer needs weekly with the ministry team. Plan/coordinate/assist Collegeside events (5th Sundays, Wednesday meals, VBS, Singing nights, fellowship nights, holiday events. Long-term goal – Develop a strategy, under the direction of the Teaching Minister, for recruitment and assignment of volunteers that ensures members are not overworked and new members have ministry opportunities presented.
    • Serve the women’s ministry at Collegeside by communicating with and empowering volunteers. Facilitate events in conjunction with ministry leaders.
  • Church Life – Have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Possess a love for the Collegeside Church of Christ. Enjoy a dynamic relationship with the Collegeside body demonstrated by participation in worship assemblies, church-wide events, and Wednesday night Bible classes. Demonstrate a desire for more people to be actively engaged in the life of the entire church body.
