Clean Hands, Pure Heart

In Genesis 27:22 Issac comments on Jacob's deception, "The voice is the voice of Jacob, but the hands are the hands of Esau." It suggests that our hands often serve to distinguish who we are. My Dad's hands were small, short and thick.  Mine are small and thin.

Psalms 24:3-4 raises a question and answers it, "Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? And who  may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart..."
I was looking at Janice's hands recently. Our love began by holding hands. Later those hands would hold me tight, wipe away the tears of my children and comfort me and the children when we were sick.

But more importantly were her spiritual hands. I never knew anyone who was more pure minded, such clean hands, just like her mother.
Such purity of mind sure makes for a real true love and marriage!
