Bible Reading Plan Week 2 Day 2

Tuesday, January 12: Psalm 37 - Featured Reading
 Reflect on verse 1.
• What are we not to fear?
• How are fear and worry an indicator of spiritual immaturity?
• What practical ways can you grow spiritually if fear and worry are strongholds for you?
See Philippians 4:6-7 and 1 Peter 5:7 to begin.

Reflect on verses 3-5, 25, 28, and 39-40.
• What attitudes toward the Lord are believers to adopt?
• How are these attitudes the result of pursuing spiritual maturity and what active steps can believers take to display these attitudes in order to glorify God?

Reflect on verse 5.
• The first word is “commit.” What is required of you to commit your ways to the Lord?
• What is the practical display of “committing your ways” to the Lord?
• How does spiritual maturity grow when you commit your ways to the Lord?

Reflect on verse 7. 
• How does the fact that the Lord has foreknowledge of wicked plans help you “be still” and “wait patiently”?
• Why is spiritual maturity, or at least the pursuit of it, necessary for stillness and patience?

Reflect on the theme of “the wicked” in this chapter.
Consider the following pairs of verses: 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17, 18-20, 21-22, 32-33, and 35-36.
• Does God’s foreknowledge of wicked schemes mean these plans are never successful?
• What is the connection between God’s sovereignty and man’s free will as it relates to evil plans?
