The Ways Of God

A mother delivers a stillborn...the Dr. pronounces leukemia...the wife learns of the death of her military husband...the overseas serviceman gets a "Dear John" letter...a hard-working father loses his job...a close friend commits suicide. So, we ask "Why?"

We ask "Why me? Why now?Why this?" Job lost his livestock, his servant, and all his children in one day. He was then struck with boils from head to toe. Job received no answers to explain his tragedy. Heaven is silent. Yet he does not vocalize out loud a "Why?". He rather replied, "Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?" (Job 2:10) Someone once wrote: "God is too kind to do anything cruel...too wise to make a mistake...too deep to explain Himself."

Paul wrote, "Oh, the depths of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgements and unfathomable His ways!" (Rom. 11:33)
