The Spirit Is Hovering

Listen to Isaiah 32:14-15 as it describes a period of hopelessness in the life of God’s people, “For the palace is forsaken, the populous city deserted; the hill and watchtower will become dens forever, a joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks,...”
The events of 2020 have proven to be a stressful time for the citizens of America. It can be seen in the faces and conduct of our children. The suicide rate is up and the sales of whiskey are out of sight as people try to drown the stress out of their lives.
Isaiah continued his words by anticipating the solution, “...until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is deemed a forest.”

Your world may seem dark and depressing due to the events of this year. But, folks, God’s Spirit is present within you if you are a Christian. In the second verse of the Bible we were promised, “The earth was without form and void and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” Dear friends, God’s Spirit is ever present in our darkness. Jesus reiterated, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:18) Again, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you...Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” (14:27) Oh, what cause for hope and joy the blessed Spirit of God gives us!
