Make the World Better
I have always enjoyed the Peanuts cartoons and I think my favorite character is Charlie Brown. I suppose I like him because I can identify my personality in him. He becomes depressed at times because he is intimidated constantly by the strong character, Lucy.
Once Lucy declared, "How could the world be getting worse with me in it. Ever since I was born the world has shown a distinct improvement." To say the least Lucy had an unrealistic and elevated opinion of herself. But she does make an interesting point. We are called by God to make the world a better place by displaying the love of Christ to those we come in contact with.
Peter writes, "Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of you good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation." (I Peter 2:12) Yes, we can make the world better through our actions. Will you let Christ shine through you?
