An Eternal Perspective

All my life I have enjoyed participating in congregational singing. There is nothing better than lifting up the human voice with your brethren to give praise and honor and glory to God. I still thrill to sing "Pass Me Not O Gentle Savior", "Blessed Assurance", "Praise Him, Praise Him", "Rescue the Perishing", and "To God Be The Glory".  All of these were written by Fanny Crosby.

Miss Crosby wrote over 8,000 hymns and gospel songs, despite being blinded in infancy.  She believed it was by the providence of God that she was blind all her life. She remarked, "If perfect earthly sight were offered me tomorrow I would not accept it. I might not have sung hymns to the praise of God if I had been distracted by the beautiful and interesting things about me. When I get to heaven, the first face that shall ever gladden my sight will be that of my Savior. "

The apostle Paul like Fanny Crosby saw life from an eternal perspective. II Cor. 4:17-18 reads, "For momentary light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. "

All your troubles will seem dim when one day you see Jesus!
