Care Group Information
Purpose: During this time when we have to think differently about how we minister to our
church family, Hebrews 10:24-25 has become more and more motivating: “Let us consider
how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting
together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as
you see the Day approaching.” Meeting together might look different for the next few weeks,
but we will not give up. It is with Hebrews 10:24 encouragement, we are creating and asking
for you to partner with us in Care Groups.
Care Groups: Care Groups are ministry teams designed to check on the needs of members
while we cannot meet together physically as a church family. Care Groups will consist
of a leader and 5-6 members.
Care Group Leaders:
Call the members of their group twice per week
Pray for members of their group by name
Ensure members needs are met
Care Group Members:
Pray for members of their group by name
Communicate any needs they have to the group leader
Assist the group leader in meeting the needs of the other group members
Volunteers Needed: 50 volunteers to lead Care Groups.
Areas of Need to Identify: Ideas include but are not limited to:
Spiritual needs: prayer requests, sermon discussions, communion supplies
Emotional needs: identifying and combating loneliness, fear, anxiety, frustration
Practical needs: running errands, yard work, etc.
Economic needs: assessing the economic impact of lost income from jobs being
shut down
Once Needs are Identified:
Care Group leaders can meet the needs themselves if they can.
Care Group leaders can share the needs with the group so group members can
support each other and meet each other’s needs.
Care groups leaders can let the church office know so the ministry staff and elders
can meet the needs of the members.
How to Get Involved:
Be a Care Group LEADER: call the church office to sign up: 526-2661 or email
info@collegeside.org. Please volunteer by SUNDAY, MARCH 29 th .
