Celebrate Recovery - Hope

NEWS

Below is some news and information about Collegeside's Celebrate Recovery ministry. Please feel free to forward or share this information.

Due to the threat of COVID-19, Celebrate Recovery will not have Meeting Night on March 31. That includes the fellowship meal, Large Group Meeting, Open Share Groups. All Step Studies will also be canceled during this time frame. A decision about meetings after Tuesday, March 31 will be communicated at the appropriate time.

In lieu of meetings, we are sharing even more content than usual on our Facebook page -- all centered around the peace and hope we can find in Jesus. Just go to Facebook and search for "Celebrate Recovery Cookeville." There is also a national Celebrate Recovery Facebook page that is also sharing some great recovery-related information and resources.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

I Peter 1 says, “God has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.”

We all need to hear about hope right now. And we need to be reminded there are still things in life that are rock-solid. In the midst of chaos and uncertainty, some things are untouchable. Some things will never perish, spoil or fade.

As followers of Jesus, our hope is one of those things. Our inheritance can’t be touched by war. Or famine. Or pandemic. Or any other earthly foe. Our hope lies beyond this time. Beyond this world.

The cares of this world can distract us. Blind us. Fool us into thinking our hope is found in sources contrived by or controlled by man.

But our hope is found only in the resurrection of Jesus.

Consider what steps can you take today to move your recovery forward. Perhaps you can reach out for accountability? Maybe join with us today in praying for our leaders and our communities?   Visit celebraterecovery.com for ways to handle recovery during the COVID crisis.

Take hope. Take action.
