Falling Out of Bed
On one occasion a little boy was rudely awakened when he fell out of bed in the middle of the night. His mother asked him how it happened. He answered, "I don't really know, but I think I stayed too close to where I got in."
There are many people who stay too close to where they originally got in when it comes to their faith. They never grew in their faith. They may attend worship services but do not study God's Word nor pray. When a Christian does not grow in his or her faith they run the danger of falling out of the bed of their faith. Peter admonished Christians, "but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (II Peter 3:18)
So, what part of the bed of faith are you sleeping in today? Is there a possibility you are too close to where you got in? "Therefore, let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity." (Heb.6:1)
