Our Final Home

I counted up the other day and determined that I had lived in 26 different houses in my lifetime. No, I wasn't in the military! My parents lived in several places and, of course, you know how preachers tend to move more than most. This is just the opposite of those who have lived in the same house their whole life having inherited their parents home. Moving can be either exciting or traumatic. We finally moved into our present house that became one of Janice's first homes that she could do whatever she wanted to with but her condition never allowed her to enjoy it.

But in a sense every house we lived in was home to us. Small or large, nice or not so nice we were together with each other and the children. We were at home!

Hebrews 13:14 says, "For here we do not have a lasting city, but are seeking the city which is to come." Our real and final home will be heaven. Rev. 21:4 promises That God "...will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning, or crying or pain." If you enjoy your present home just think how much better your new home will be!
